Are you dreaming of a Mediterranean getaway that blends both luxury and relaxation? Then look no further than Sardinia, an enchanting Italian island boasting pristine beaches, rich culture, untouched nature, and striking scenery. To take you deeper into this captivating destination and uncover what makes it so special, we asked Gary Boyd, from Oasis Portfolio, to share his experiences and insights from his recent trip to this costal paradise to help inspire your next escape.
Forte Village Resort: A Kingdom of Choice
Gary’s journey began at the renowned Forte Village Resort, where he was greeted with a plethora of options to suit every traveller’s taste. This luxurious oasis offers various accommodation styles, including the opulent Villa Del Parco & Spa and Hotel Castello with mesmerising sea views to the charming Bungalow-style Le Dune. For a unique and private experience, the 4-star Pineta and Le Palme provide cozy havens surrounded by nature. Overall, guests have a choice of 3 five star hotels and 3 four star hotels plus 13 luxury villas with private pools, giving you the freedom to design your holiday just the way you like it.
The resort is sold on a Half Board basis, and each accommodation category grants access to a selection of complimentary restaurants. Guests can indulge in a diverse range of dining choices, but should they wish to explore beyond the package offerings, they have the freedom to do so by paying a supplement (up to €75 per person, depending on the restaurant). Beyond the accommodation and cuisine, Forte Village is home an extensive range of facilities. From the restorative Thalasso Spa and the thrilling Aqua Park to the Sports Academy featuring Karate, Boxing, and a Soccer School with prestigious partnerships with clubs such as Real Madrid. If you are travelling with younger children or in search of family friendly activities, you can avail of the Kids Club (featuring Barbie Land), or head for an adrenaline-fuelled, exhilarating afternoon at the karting track. Gary rounded off his stay by saying, “The magic of this resort is that it offers something for everyone. Whether you want to relax by the pool, get a spa treatment or have a kick about with the Galacticos, you are free to do as you wish.”
Costa Esmeralda: A North East Gem
Following a delightful three-day stay at Forte Village, Gary’s next stop was the stunning Costa Esmeralda in the northeast of the island. First up was the charming resort of Golfo Aranci, where he stayed at Gabbiano Azzurro. This gem of a hotel offers picturesque views, close proximity to a private beach, and is only short walk to the Port of Golfo Aranci. As a prime example of Mediterranean charm, Gabbiano Azzurro creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for families and is only a 25-minute drive from Olbia Airport.
The second destination on the Northeast leg was the lavish Baglioni Hotel in Costa Esmeralda. Built for those who enjoy the finer things in life, this exquisite five star property provides an unrivalled experience. The standard of service delivered by the Baglioni staff is simply superb, the stunning Hacienda-style rooms offer a sense of tranquillity amid lush gardens, and the hotel features a relaxing pool, one main restaurant, and a Michelin-starred dining option. If that’s not enough, a private beach club adds exclusivity to the sandy shores, offering ultimate comfort and convenience. For those who want to explore further, a car is highly recommended for the duration of your stay.
Sardinia – is it for me?
As Gary reflects on his Sardinian adventure, it is evident that this coastal haven has woven its magic on him. The island’s stunning beauty, diverse accommodation options, and luxurious amenities leave a lasting impression on visitors. Whether you seek relaxation at Forte Village or a taste of opulence at The Baglioni, or if the intimate charm of Gabbiano Azzurro calls out to you, Sardinia promises an unforgettable escape that will leave you longing for a return trip.
